Top Tips by Tum : Hidden Gems

Here are some lesser known spots that you can visit. A scooter/car rental is highly recommended as Taxi fares can be quite high.

1. Tricky Trocky Beach  - You first make your way to Beautiful beach, park your scooter here and walk a few minutes through the coconut plantation. A small and very quiet cove will uncover with great views of the sunset! Note that during low season, ocean trash along the beach is quite common. Bring a small mat / inflatable sofa for optimal experience.

2. Nui Bay - This is probably my favorite beach on the island in terms of beauty. Park your bike curbside and get ready for a short hike down the hill. Do not get confused with Nui beach because thats another spot.

Note 1: Rip currents have been experienced here so take care when swimming! Note 2: Sun sets here are mignificent but please plan ahead for the ride back through the dark!

3. Mu Ko Lanta National Park - 8.00 to 17.00 - Pricing 200 THB/adult

Visit the famous lighthouse and the sandy beaches there. There are toilets, clean shower and vendors in the park. If you like hiking, there is also a 50 minute trail around the bay which will let you experience the jungle. Make sure to visit the Khlong Chak waterfall for FREE using your park tickets on the way back.

4. Khlong Chak Waterfall

BIG TIP: Keep your National park entry tickets and use them for entry to Khlong Chak Waterfall (valid for same day). The parking lot is located here and is 40 THB per scooter. The best time to come is May - November, especially during rainy season.

The waterfall itself is not difficult to reach, just follow the stream taking around 30 minutes. It is not widely known that you are able to access the upper levels of the water fall by carfeully traversing up the cliff on the right side of the main waterfall (There is a trail if you look closely!). There you will be rewarded with private natural pools with fantastic jungle ambience as pictured.
